Young quartet started its career in 2007 at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. The quartet continues in tradition of Sedlaček Quartet, which preformed in Pilsen, in years 1974 - 1994. The tradition is joined with the Sedláček´s family - Michal Sedláček is a grandson of Jan Sedláček. Their first chamber knowledge they gained at Jiří Panocha - the 1st violinist of Panocha´s Quartet, under his leadership they studied chamber music at Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. All of the members have great experiences at solo playing either chamber playing. They cooperate with major Czech pedagogues and pedagogues from abroad, who playing at ensembles as Stamic Quartet, Kocian´s Quartet, Alban Berg Quartet, ARIA Quartett, AVIV Quartet.
The Quartet attended many times masterclasses "Internationale Sommer Akademie Praha - Wien - Budapest" at Reichenau (Austria) under the leadership of members of major quartets (Keller Quartett, Artis Quartett Wien, Tel Aviv Quartet či Alban Berg Quartett). They performed at noted events in Czech Republic and abroad (Festival ISA, Festival Mladá Praha, Suk´s Křečovice, Židovský Podzim, Festival Nitra´s Music Autumn, Festival Pablo Calas in Prades, concerting in Slazburg, Brusel, Peking.
Sedlaček´s Quartet is the winner of the international competition of Karol Szymanowski in Katowice (Poland, 2014). Quartet is the winner of The Competition of Bohuslav Martinů in Prague, where they obtained The Prize of The Best Music Permormance of the piece by B. Martinů. They got the 3rd prize at The International Competition of Johannes Brahms (Austria, 2013). The Quartet also obtained a scholarship of Czech Music Fund.
The Quartet have recordered the String quartet d minor, op. 34 by Antonín Dvořák in 2011. They obtained A Special Prize ISA 11´. Sedláček´s Quartet recordered CD of the music by Czech composers (K. Slavický, S. Hořínek, B. Martinů, J. Teml) and the brand new CD of F. A. Míča and A. Dvořák.
